Hey,

I am looking to start bringing in my lunches to work (I work in a large office with a canteen which I eat at daily). I, however, have no access to a microwave etc. So does anyone have any ideas of lunches which I can prepare at home?

I was thinking a sandwich, but the bread I use is not the best when not heated up or toasted?

I do salads - turkey, chicken, egg, tomato and mozzarella, feta etc

I also love humous and crudities!

Omelets are good - make a really big one and you can eat it cold

Crackers are sometimes good too

I get gf pitta bread from sainsburys and put tuna and sweetcorn or anything really inside and it keeps perfect. The bread stays nice and soft and makes the best sandwich iv had in a long time. When i go away for a few days i take lots of sandwiches and eat them even on day 2.

Juvella high fibre rolls. Split then and toast them at home, they are fine to eat cold when toasted. Depending on what filling I use I might bring the filling in a lunch box and fill the roll just before I eat it to stop it going soggy. They're nice filled with parma ham, buffallo mozzarella, basil and some sliced tomatoes (all cheap and cheerful from Aldi).

Cold pasta salad is nice and filling as well and easy to prepare the night before. You can vary it with different meats and cheeses and salad.

You could bring soup in a flask maybe, be nice in the winter.

Here's a Blog that should prove very interesting, it's all about cold lunch options
in a bento lunch box.
.
There are over 90 pages of suggested lunch options.
.
The item on page 4 caught my attention, it's a device for heating up your lunch box,
without using the Microwave or Oven, great for avoiding possible cross-contamination
while you're using your computer in the office your lunch is heating Via a USB Cable (AMAZING)
.
Lunch in a Box, builing a better Bento
.
Best Regards,
David

Hi, David,

I don't think I'll be eating lasagne in your house!
