Allegro Killarney

Postby Mariea » Mon May 21, 2012 9:42 am

Hi all,

Was in Killarney for the weekend and paid a visit to Allegro's - OMG I was not disappointed, its GF heaven.
The GF options were great - burgers, pizza, chips, all available as take away or sit-in. There were many types of burgers to choose from and there was also GF fish available on the day I was in.
They also have frozen GF pizza's that you can take home with you. There was a choice of 4 pizza types. At only €5 each I took 4 home for my freezer :)
The food is prepared so carefully you will not be worried about cross contamination. The owner is very nice and chatty, he is passionate about his business and is delighted to see coeliac's enjoying his food.
My boyfriend who isn’t coeliac had a regular burger & chip and he said it was the nicest, tastiest burger he ever had. He could wait to go back!

I cannot recommend this place enough - Id nearly visit Killarney just to go to Allegro’s!

I was also down at the weekend in Killarney and went into Allegro for a dirty burger and chips on Saturday night. My husband and I were down for our first wedding anniversary and must have looked er....out of place sitting in scoffing burgers in our gladrags - it had to be done though!

Yummy GF bun on the burger, very helpful staff and lashings of salty vinegary chips, nyom.

yes I was speaking to the owner about the buns and he very kindly changed them to the Moila bun that they use now which is absolutely gorgeous. And he incurs the extra cost on them. They are actually a euro each. I said God you're great to absorb that price difference and he said look I want the food the same price as the regular menu I dont think its fair that coeliacs have to pay extra because its not their fault they have an intolerance.

The place is great and the battered fish OMG its just to die for.
