There are three brands of gf/wf bread that we buy:

(1) Dietary Specials.
(2) Livwell.
(3) Giusto.

The first two are usually available in Dunnes Stores and the third in a pharmacy. The Giusto brand is listed on the GMS scheme.

Used also like the Ener-G brand - available from Ecodirect.

We are currently trying the Beiker brand of gf/wf bread which we got from Ecodirect - it is in her lunchbox today so waiting for the thumbs up/down response!

Glutafin do a GF WF bread as well the one that has wheat starch in it.
I have tried it toasted and it's lovely cos it has bigger slices than say dietary specials bread.
here is a link anyway -> http://www.glutafin.co.uk/Our-foods/long-life-bread/Gluten-Free-Wheat-Free-White

I came across it in a Super-Valu, not sure though if it is available on GMS

I use the glutafin one all the time, and think its ok as gluten free bread goes, it goes without saying it has to be 'refreshed' in the microwave for a few seconds to get it resembling anything like normal bread

The Glutafin white flour mix and the fibre mix make great bread in the bread maker. Proper slices - same size as "regular" bread and doesn't need to be refreshed. Much better flavour than their ready made one. The fibre mix makes a brown loaf with a nutty flavour and makes lovely sandwiches.

all the stuff in ecodirect is gluten free and all of it is wheat free too so you should get some variety and give them a chance if you havent already. they have a shop too where you can just call in.

Hi Mob,
While Ecodirect are open Monday to Friday at present,
There is talk about a Saturday Opening for those that work and can't,
for one reason or another take home deliveries.
.
Time to be confirmed but it could be 10am to 2pm on Saturdays
starting in the not too distant future! :D
.
Best Regards,
David
