This section is for all food providers: cafés, restaurants, takeaways, office canteens, hospitals, schools, care-homes and other establishments providing food safe for coeliacs.

If you can offer coeliacs a good experience they are very likely to tell other coeliacs and will come back with their friends and family as regular customers.

As a food providers, caterers are obliged to comply with general food law. This includes the supply of safe gluten-free foods to coeliacs. Caterers should know the ingredients that make up the food they are serving and be able to advise consumers whether or not the food being served contains gluten. The whole team, kitchen and front-of-house need to work together to offer a good experience to coeliacs.

Safe Food have produced a Food Allergy and Intolerance Guide for the catering industry, which also provides information on Coeliac disease, and is a comprehensive guide for the Catering Industry.

They also produce a Poster for the Catering Industry with Allergen warnings that you may find useful to put in your kitchen for staff.
